In English
Welcome to the English section of our website.
RG Aktiv Rehabilitering (RG) is a non-profit organization that uses a community peer based approach. For over 40 years our goal has been to ensure that people with spinal cord injuries or similar conditions have every opportunity to live inspiring, active, and independent lives – now and in the future.
Overview – Adult Programs
RG offers programmes for both newly injured individuals and those who have lived with their injury for a longer time. At RG, you’ll also find training, outdoor activities, and support for those who are living with a spinal cord injury and their families. We offer a variety of activities, from individual and group training at Bosön, to outdoor adventures and digital theme meetups.
For Children, Youth and Families
RG offers programmes for children and youth who have a spinal cord injury or other similar physical disabilities. For younger children, we have family programmes where the whole family is included. In addition to the programmes, RG also offers outdoor recreation, family support, and digital theme sessions.
About RG
RG Aktiv Rehabilitering is a non-profit organization that has helped thousands of people live better, more independent lives. It has also contributed to improved spinal cord injury care in Sweden and shared its methods and successes with many other countries.
Our Method
The Active Rehabilitation (AR) method emerged during the early years of our organization in the late 1970s. It is unique and distinguishes us from both healthcare institutions and other organizations. AR is the foundation of all activities at RG Aktiv Rehabilitering and is based on five simple cornerstones.
International Cooperation
Through international projects, RG Aktiv Rehabilitering has supported the establishment of similar organizations in many other countries.
The purpose of our international work is to share knowledge and experience in areas such as organizational development, outreach programs, and the Active Rehabilitation method. The goal is to support passionate individuals in newly founded organizations abroad, so they can continue to develop their structures and services.
Member Magazine – Kick
Kick is RG Aktiv Rehabilitering’s member magazine, distributed to members and other stakeholders. It communicates the essence of the Active Rehabilitation method – its goals and how to achieve them.
Research on Active Rehabilitation
Courses, camps, and programmes are central to the Active Rehabilitation approach – and they’ve proven to be highly effective. Everyone involved in RG Aktiv Rehabilitering’s activities has seen firsthand how well the method works. But beyond the anecdotal evidence, there is also solid scientific support. Over the years, several studies have examined how Active Rehabilitation is experienced, delivered, and evaluated in different countries and contexts. All research is planned, conducted, and analysed in close cooperation with the target group – and the knowledge is shared across borders.
